- The start-up company Nanoscribe GmbH has been founded in 2007 out of Martin Wegener’s group: Nanoscribe produces compact and easy-to-operate table-top laser lithography systems, allowing for the fabrication of true three-dimensional nanostructures based on two photon polymerization in commercially available photoresists. Martin Hermatschweiler, Georg v. Freymann, Michael Thiel and Martin Wegener have been awarded the Otto-Haxel Award 2007 for the successful technology transfer.
- In 2007 the Ohio/Karlsruhe vehicle has entered the finals of the US DARPA Grand Challenge and was ranked on position 10 among a total of 195 competitors.
